Walking With A Piece Of My Soul

Daughter of mine, child so fair, eyes are a light in the day
Daughter of mine, smile so free, surfin’ on the crest of a wave
Child of mine, daughter of chance, so many things to extol
Daughter of mine, a light on my life,
Walking with a piece of my soul
Time runs so swiftly, seems once I was there now I’m here
So much to teach them, tryin’ hard not to interfere.
Son of mine, eyes so bright, seeing so much in the world
Son of mine, rushin’ on by, chrome wheels a blur on the road
Child of mine, son of the world, so many things to extol
Son of mine, a light on my life,
Walking with a piece of my soul
Time runs so swiftly, seems once I was there now I’m here
So much to teach them, tryin’ hard not to interfere.
Son of mine, standing so tall, feet planted firmly on ground
Son of mine, working so hard, wrestling with the speed of greyhound
Child of mine, son of the world, so many things to extol
Son of mine, a light on my life,
Walking with a piece of my soul
Time runs so swiftly, seems once I was there now I’m here
So much to teach them, tryin’ hard not to interfere.
